From July 6th-9th 2017, St Peter’s Church will welcome the world to Woolton Village as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the meeting of two seemingly ordinary Liverpool lads who went on to change the world.
On that day, no-one dreamed what John meeting Paul would lead to.

The events of that day, 60 years ago, showed that magic can happen anywhere, even at a local village fete, when a community comes together. Even without the Beatles connection, that alone is worth celebrating and very much reflects the emphasis that St Peter’s places on the local community and Church families.

We want to share our blessings with as many people as possible, and so during 2017 we will be holding a series of celebratory events, including having the Church Hall open during the anniversary weekend in July and International Beatle Week celebrations in August.

This website is run solely by members of St Peter’s Church and is intended to be the hub of information for all anniversary events in and around Woolton Village. If you are holding an anniversary-related event and would like to be included on our events page, just drop us a line.

We are coming to woolton on 5th July to join the 60th celebration of the meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, we will have two daughters with us and would dearly love to attend the whole day including the dance in the evening in the church hall, if possible could you let me know how we would apply for tickets and let me know if their are any age restrictions for the evening, one of our daughters is 13 and it will be the others 15th birthday on the 6th we have booked accommodation for the trip and will be travelling up from Reading, it would be a huge disappointment should we miss the chance to attend, your advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

      Hi Sam
All the events that require tickets or involve an entry charge on July 6 are being organised by the Cavern and you will need to contact them with regards to tickets. We’ll post any information on this website too, but you will need to contact the Cavern directly for the answers to your questions. Having said that, the Church Hall will be open on July 6 from 10am to 3pm, admission is free and there are no age restrictions. Please come and find me (my name is Donna) when you arrive and say hello. I’ll make sure that your daughters (and you too!) get to stand on the spot where Paul ‘auditioned’ for John and where the Beatles began! I hope this helps a bit.
PS – there is contact information for the Cavern in this post: http://beatlesatstpeters.co.uk/the-day-john-met-paul/
